The City of Reading will host the Fourth Annual 6th Ward Block Party on Saturday, September 13, offering an afternoon of live music, food, and community celebration.
The event will run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lauer’s Park Elementary School, 251 N. Second Street, and is free and open to the public. City officials said the block party will take place rain or shine.
This year’s festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting and dedication of the Rain Poetry Art installation, presented by the Reading Public Library.
Entertainment will include performances by Berks Sinfonietta, The Jazz Five, Effecto Imperial, La Experimencia Musical, Black Horse, and DJ Henry Houdini. Food vendors, games, activities, and information booths will also be available throughout the afternoon.
City officials, local organizations, and residents are expected to attend the event, which highlights community connection in the 6th Ward neighborhood.
